Heat Shrink packaging has become a very popular method for manufacturers to protect their products during transport to the customer. This process requires very careful application of a raw gas flame to the plastic shroud which is placed over the goods (usually on a pallet). The heat from the flame shrinks the plastic to take up the profile of the goods, thus making it an homogenous unit suitable for shipping and protecting it from the weather.
In co-operation with a major beverage can manufacturer, The Combustion Group developed an automated heat shrinking burner system to wrap cans prior to shipment to the cool drink manufacturer. This very specific application is just one example of how the expertise of the engineers in The Combustion Group can be applied to a wide and varied range of tasks. |
