Many years ago, the need was seen for a low cost portable airheater specifically designed for use in poultry houses. This resulted in the development of a locally produced, economically priced unit for this purpose. Using gas as a fuel (usually LPG), the heaters can be easily placed in position in the poultry house where the temperature has to be maintained at an optimum level. In many cases, the hot air produced is directed through the house by means of permanent or moveable ducting. Each air heater is fitted with its own flame monitoring system.
Another device developed for this industry is the "Fog Hog". Used to fumigate the poultry houses between batches, this portable fumigator can simply be pushed into position and filled with the necessary chemical and the on-board, LPG fired air heater does the rest. Once the fumigation is complete, the unit is removed, ready for the next operation. |
